PININDEX.IN helps you look up Indian PIN codes and explore the post offices, districts and states associated with them. Here is where our information comes from and what you should know about its accuracy.
Our postal data
PININDEX.IN uses a compiled postal dataset containing Indian PIN codes, post office names and related location details. We organise these records into searchable PIN code, state and district directories.
Our directory is independent of India Post. It is not connected to a live India Post database, and the individual records have not all been independently checked against the latest official listings.
What you can find
Depending on the information available for a particular entry, directory pages may include:
- A six-digit PIN code and its associated post office names.
- District and state or union territory information.
- Post office type and delivery classification.
- Other postal administrative details, when available.
More than one post office can share the same PIN code. For that reason, a single PIN page may list several offices.
Accuracy and limitations
We aim to make postal information easier to find, but we cannot guarantee that every listing is complete, current or free from errors. Post offices may be renamed, relocated or closed. PIN assignments, administrative boundaries and delivery services may also change.
Some entries may contain older names, spelling variations, missing details or inconsistent records.
Please verify important postal details
For official applications, important deliveries or other time-sensitive uses, check the relevant details on the official India Post website before relying on a directory entry.
Updates and corrections
We may update the directory when revised postal information becomes available or when an error can be corrected. PININDEX.IN does not currently provide real-time updates or promise a fixed schedule for checking every record.
Reports from visitors can help identify information that needs attention. A submitted correction may require further checking and is not automatically applied to the directory.
Found an incorrect listing?
Email [email protected] with the PIN code, post office name, what appears incorrect and the suggested correction. A link to an official source, if you have one, is helpful.
