PININDEX.IN helps you find the postal information behind an Indian PIN code. Search by code or post office name, or explore the directory by state and district.
A straightforward way to look up a PIN
A six-digit PIN code identifies a postal delivery area, but it does not necessarily refer to just one post office. Several offices can share the same PIN. Searching for a single code should therefore show the relevant post office records together, rather than make you open a separate page for each office.
That is the idea behind PININDEX. Each PIN code page brings together the entries available in the directory, including the office name, district, state and other postal details provided by the dataset.
What you can do here
- Look up a PIN code: Enter all six digits to open the available postal record.
- Find an office by name: Start typing a post office name to search matching entries.
- Browse places: Open a state or union territory, choose a district, and browse the PIN codes listed there.
- Check related offices: See which post office records are associated with the same PIN code.
If this is your first visit, the How to Find a PIN Code guide explains these options with examples.
Where the information comes from
The directory is built from an imported CSV collection of Indian post office records. It is not a live feed from India Post. Older entries, spelling variations, district names and delivery classifications may remain in the dataset until they are reviewed or replaced.
We do not present these records as independently verified, current India Post information. For the fields included, known limitations and correction process, see Data Sources & Accuracy.
An independent directory
PININDEX.IN is an independent informational website. It is not operated, endorsed or affiliated with the Department of Posts or India Post. We do not accept parcels, book postal services, trace shipments or issue official confirmations of an address.
Checking something important?
For delivery availability, a recently renamed post office or a time-sensitive shipment, verify the details using India Post’s official website before relying on a directory entry.
Help improve the directory
If a PIN code page contains an inaccurate office name, outdated district or other questionable information, please let us know. Include the PIN code, the existing record and a reliable supporting source, if available.
